Knowledge Gap Warning
The LLM's training data likely covers Unity up to ~2022 LTS (2022.3). The entire Unity 6 release series (formerly Unity 2023 Tech Stream) introduced significant changes that the model does NOT know about. Always cross-reference this directory before suggesting Unity API calls.

Why This Matters For This Project
Iron & Timber is a 2D isometric colony sim. Three 6.3 changes are directly relevant:
- Unified URP/HDRP compiler — the seasonal palette shader work recommended by prior architecture research (gradient-map/LUT tinting, see
docs/research/if saved) now targets a shared compiler path. Verify Shader Graph node compatibility against 6.3 docs before assuming a pattern from older URP tutorials still applies unchanged. - 2D Renderer Mesh+Sprite interop — if any 3D-modeled prop (e.g. a Meshy/Tripo-generated asset) needs to sit in the same lit scene as 2D sprite settlers, 6.3 is the first version this is natively supported in without workarounds. Check
current-best-practices.md. - UI Toolkit USS parser is stricter — HUD/menu work (armory readout, season selector, muster UI) should account for the parser now flagging previously-tolerated invalid USS. See
deprecated-apis.md.
